The Bison Ultimate uses a full-size, competition-grade glass backboard that provides the same authentic rebound response you would find on an indoor court. Combined with a rigid, heavy-gauge steel post, it eliminates the excessive vibration and 'dead' spots common with cheaper, residential-grade systems.

The five-foot setback creates a significant buffer zone between the support pole and the baseline. This extra space allows players to drive to the hoop, maneuver under the basket, and perform layups without constantly worrying about colliding with the pole.

Yes, the system is engineered specifically for outdoor use. The steel post features a powder-coated finish to prevent rust, and the entire structure is built to withstand exposure to the elements, though we always recommend checking the hardware periodically if you live in an area with extreme weather fluctuations.

Because this is an in-ground mounting system, it requires digging a hole and pouring concrete to secure the post. While a handy homeowner can manage the installation, we strongly recommend having at least two people assist with the assembly and mounting of the heavy glass backboard for safety.

The system comes with protective padding for both the pole and the bottom of the backboard. This padding is essential for absorbing impact during aggressive play, significantly reducing the risk of injury if a player makes contact with the structure.
