While the block is formulated specifically for the nutritional demands of spring and summer, such as antler growth and lactation, it will not harm deer if left out during other seasons. However, you may see decreased consumption as their dietary needs shift away from these specific mineral requirements.

Longevity depends entirely on the size of your local herd and their current mineral intake needs. In areas with high deer density, you can expect the block to last several weeks, whereas lower-traffic areas may see the block persist for a month or more.

The scent and flavor enhancers are designed to draw deer in relatively quickly, but it often takes a few days for the local herd to locate the block and begin consistent consumption. Once they find it, the scent helps ensure they return regularly.

Placing the block directly on the ground is recommended. As it slowly dissolves, the minerals will leach into the soil, creating a mineral lick that deer will continue to visit and paw at even after the block itself has been consumed.
