This system is designed for a permanent, in-ground installation, meaning the post is set directly into concrete. This provides the most stable foundation possible, eliminating the wobble often found in portable hoop systems.

The heavy-duty flex breakaway rim is built to handle competitive play and moderate dunking. However, like all residential hoops, it is not designed for aggressive hanging on the rim, which can damage the backboard or the adjustment mechanism over time.

We strongly recommend adding the optional post and backboard padding if you have younger children or plan on playing aggressive, high-speed games. It provides a crucial layer of safety by cushioning impact against the steel pole and the bottom edge of the backboard.
