Sintered metal pads are built for durability and high-heat performance. They are significantly more resistant to brake fade during long, aggressive descents compared to organic compounds, making them the better choice for downhill, trials, and heavy-duty riding.

While these pads are engineered for a quick break-in, you should still perform a few controlled stops on a flat, safe surface before hitting the trails. This helps bed the pad material into the rotor surface for consistent, reliable stopping power.

The copper plating serves as a heat sink, helping to dissipate the extreme temperatures generated during heavy braking. This keeps your braking system cooler and more responsive, preventing the fluid boiling or brake fade that can occur on technical descents.

While they will certainly stop your bike, they are likely overkill for casual road riding. Sintered pads can be noisier and more aggressive than resin pads, so if you prioritize silent operation and modulation over extreme heat resistance, you might prefer a softer compound.
