Wheels Manufacturing hangers are often machined to tighter tolerances than standard cast hangers found on many stock bikes. The 6061 aluminum construction provides a balance of stiffness for crisp shifting and enough ductility to bend during an impact, which helps protect your frame from more severe damage.

This hanger is designed to mount using a standard M8 chainring bolt. Please note that the mounting bolt is typically not included with the hanger itself, so you should reuse the hardware from your existing setup.

While the black anodized finish looks clean, its primary purpose is to provide a layer of corrosion resistance. This helps prevent the aluminum from oxidizing over time, ensuring the hanger remains durable even when exposed to the elements.

While it is technically possible to straighten a hanger using a dedicated alignment tool, it is generally not recommended. Once aluminum has been bent, the metal's structural integrity is compromised, and it is more likely to snap or fail prematurely in the future; replacement is the safer, more reliable option.
