Yes, the 8mm width is quite slim, which can make it slightly more fiddly to manipulate if you are wearing thick winter gloves. If you primarily climb in cold conditions, you might find a slightly wider sling easier to handle, but the trade-off is the extra weight you'll carry.

While you technically can, it is not optimized for sport climbing. The long, extendable sling is intended for extending placements on trad routes or alpine climbs; for sport climbing, you are better off with a standard, rigid quickdraw that is easier to clip and clean.
