Petzl FINESSE

Dyneema is significantly lighter and stronger than traditional nylon webbing. It allows for a minimalist, ultralight profile that reduces the overall weight on your rack without sacrificing the 22 kN strength rating required for climbing safety.

The STRING S protector serves two functions: it keeps the carabiner properly oriented to prevent cross-loading, and it shields the webbing from abrasion caused by rope friction, which helps extend the lifespan of the sling.

The 17 cm length is ideal for sport climbing and general mountaineering where you want to reduce rope drag and keep your quickdraws compact. If you are doing trad climbing or need to extend placements significantly, you may want to carry a mix of longer slings as well.

The 10 mm width is very slim, which is great for saving weight and bulk. While it might feel slightly less substantial in the hand than standard 16 mm or 20 mm nylon slings, it is perfectly durable and easy to clip.

While the FINESSE is technically rated for it, its 17 cm length is specifically designed for quickdraws. For building anchors, you would typically want longer slings (60 cm or 120 cm) to provide the necessary length for equalization and extension.
