While it is specifically designed for 18-inch bikes, the 45mm extension and 33mm rise can work on a 20-inch setup if you prefer a shorter, more responsive front end. However, taller riders may find the shorter reach feels slightly cramped compared to standard 50mm stems.

STC uses a serrated, tooth-like pattern on the clamping surface to bite into the handlebar knurling. This creates significantly more friction than a smooth clamp, which helps prevent your bars from slipping or rotating during hard landings or heavy impacts.

This stem is compatible with standard BMX handlebars that have a 22.2mm clamping diameter. Please double-check your current bar specs, as this is the industry standard for almost all BMX bars.

The central bore is a machining process that removes excess material from the center of the stem where it isn't structurally necessary. It effectively reduces weight without compromising the clamping strength or the integrity of the stem body.

Top-load stems like the Salt AM 45 provide a higher rise, which generally makes the front end of the bike feel taller and easier to pull up for manuals and bunnyhops. If you prefer a more upright riding position or want to get your bars higher without using a stack of spacers, this is a great choice.
