Edelrid DSG 4000 Carabiner

The palm squeeze mechanism is designed to prevent unintentional opening. By requiring a deliberate squeeze to open the gate, it adds a layer of security that is particularly useful in safety-critical PPE applications.

While it is a highly durable steel carabiner, it is specifically certified to EN 12277 standards for PPE systems. It is best suited for industrial, rescue, or rigging applications rather than standard recreational rock climbing.

The keylock closure eliminates the 'hook' found on traditional carabiners, which prevents the nose from snagging on ropes, slings, or gear loops. This makes clipping and unclipping significantly smoother and more efficient.

Steel is significantly more durable and resistant to wear than aluminum, especially when used in high-frequency industrial settings or with steel cables. It provides a higher major axis strength of 40 kN, making it ideal for heavy-duty, safety-critical tasks.

The DSG 4000 measures 141 x 75 mm and features a gate opening of 24 mm. This size is optimized for easy handling while wearing gloves, which is common in the industrial environments where this carabiner is typically used.
