Godox SA-17

The SA-17 is designed for Bowens mount LED lights, but it is specifically optimized for continuous LED sources. It is not intended for use with high-powered flash strobes, as the heat generated by modeling lamps can potentially damage the projection optics.

The projection adapter acts like a lens for your light. It focuses the beam, allowing you to project sharp, defined shapes, patterns, or light pools onto your subject or background, which is essential for creating cinematic moods or specific lighting effects.

The GOBOs are metal stencils that block parts of the light to project patterns like windows, blinds, or abstract shapes onto your scene. The iris functions like a camera aperture, allowing you to tighten or widen the diameter of the light beam without changing the position of the fixture.

It attaches to your light just like a standard softbox or reflector via the Bowens mount. However, because the projection attachment adds significant weight and length to the front of your light, you will need a sturdy light stand and may need to adjust your counterweights to keep the setup balanced.

The SA-17 is a standalone projection system, so it does not accept other Bowens mount modifiers like softboxes or grids on its front. It is a specialized tool meant to replace your standard reflector to achieve precise, shaped lighting.
