While the illumination is specifically designed to help you see the center dot in low-light environments or against dark backgrounds, it is optional. You can easily turn it off during bright daylight shooting to conserve battery life.

This scope features a standard 1-inch tube diameter. You will need to purchase 1-inch scope rings that are compatible with your specific rifle's mounting base.
