The EHT topology uses vacuum tubes for voltage gain to capture the harmonic richness and holographic soundstage of a classic tube amp, while the MOSFET buffer provides the high current needed to drive difficult speakers. This combination gives you the sonic character of tubes with the authority and control of solid-state power.

While 20 watts may seem modest, the high-current MOSFET output stage and high damping factor allow this amplifier to drive a wide range of speakers with surprising grip. It is best suited for speakers with moderate to high sensitivity, though it handles complex loads better than most low-wattage tube designs.

The two bass boost curves, B1 and B2, are designed to subtly reinforce low-frequency response, which can be helpful if your speakers are slightly lean or if you are listening at lower volumes. They are not intended to replace a subwoofer but rather to provide a more balanced, full-bodied sound in rooms that lack natural bass reinforcement.

The amplifier utilizes NOS Philips SQ E81L tubes, which are renowned for their exceptional reliability and have a rated lifespan of approximately 10,000 hours. You can expect many years of consistent performance before needing to consider a replacement.

By omitting global negative feedback, the amplifier preserves the natural dynamic structure and phase integrity of the signal. This design choice results in a more organic, lifelike presentation that avoids the clinical or compressed sound often associated with heavy feedback designs.

The volume control uses a high-grade, motor-driven ALPS dual-potentiometer. This allows you to adjust the volume remotely while maintaining the sonic purity of a high-quality analog volume control.
