Focal Theva No3-D

The Theva No3-D features a dedicated up-firing driver located on the top of the cabinet. This driver projects sound toward your ceiling, which then reflects the audio back down to your listening position, creating the overhead height effects essential for an immersive Dolby Atmos experience without needing separate ceiling-mounted speakers.

With a sensitivity of 91 dB and an 8-ohm impedance, these speakers are relatively efficient and can be driven by a wide range of modern AV receivers. However, to fully realize the dynamics of the Slatefiber drivers and the clarity of the TNF tweeter, we recommend an amplifier that can deliver clean, stable power, ideally between 40 and 250 watts per channel.

Yes, for the best results, the ceiling reflection relies on a flat, reflective surface above the speakers. Avoid rooms with vaulted, angled, or heavily treated acoustic ceilings, as these will disrupt the sound bounce and diminish the height effect.

You can absolutely use them for stereo music listening. The main drivers are identical in quality to Focal's dedicated stereo speakers, so you will get excellent, high-fidelity sound for music, with the added benefit of having the Atmos capability ready whenever you switch to movies.

The Theva No3-D is a bass-reflex design, meaning it has a port that moves air to enhance low-frequency response. We recommend placing them at least 8 to 12 inches away from the wall to prevent the bass from becoming muddy or boomy.

Focal's Slatefiber technology uses recycled non-woven carbon fibers sandwiched between two layers of thermoplastic polymer. This construction creates a cone that is incredibly rigid, lightweight, and well-damped, which results in precise, punchy bass and a very natural, detailed mid-range.
