The Aerostat Down 7.0 uses actual down insulation inside the air chambers, which provides a significantly higher warmth-to-weight ratio than synthetic or reflective foil alternatives. This makes it a true four-season pad capable of handling freezing temperatures without the bulk of a traditional foam mat.

Like any down product, moisture is the enemy. While the pad is sealed, condensation inside the pad can occur if you use your breath to inflate it, which may eventually compromise the down's loft. We highly recommend using the included pump sack to inflate the pad to keep moisture out.

Yes, the 7cm thickness provides ample cushion to prevent your hips or shoulders from bottoming out against the ground. The vertical baffles also help stabilize your body position throughout the night, which is a common pain point with horizontal-baffle designs.

Using the included pump sack, you can expect to fully inflate the pad in about two to three minutes. It is much more efficient and hygienic than blowing it up by mouth, especially in cold conditions where breath moisture can freeze.

The 75D polyester fabric is robust and resistant to punctures, but it is not indestructible. While it handles standard tent floors and groomed campsites well, you should always clear your site of sharp rocks or sticks before setting up to protect the longevity of the pad.
