Aster Raydon's Favorite is hardy in zones 3 through 8. As long as your garden falls within this range, it is well-equipped to survive the winter.

Since this aster reaches a mature width of 2 to 3 feet, you should space them at least 3 feet apart if you want to allow for their full, mounding habit without overcrowding.

While no plant is completely immune to hungry wildlife, this variety is generally avoided by deer and rabbits due to its aromatic foliage. It is a reliable choice for gardens where these animals are typically a nuisance.

Once established, this plant is quite drought-tolerant. You will need to water it regularly during its first season to help it settle in, but after that, it requires minimal supplemental irrigation.

It prefers average to slightly moist, well-draining soil. It is important to avoid planting it in areas that stay wet during the winter, as this can cause the roots to rot.
