Earthworks QTC1 Microphone

The QTC1 features an exceptionally fast transient response and a wide, flat frequency range of 4 Hz to 40 kHz. This allows it to capture the subtle nuances and natural textures of acoustic instruments with high fidelity and minimal coloration.

These microphones require 48V phantom power to operate. Because they are highly sensitive and transparent, they perform best when paired with a clean, high-quality preamp that can handle their wide dynamic range without adding unwanted noise.

An omnidirectional pattern captures sound from all directions, which provides a more natural, open soundstage compared to directional mics. When used as a stereo pair, this pattern excels at capturing the authentic acoustics of a room or the cohesive blend of an ensemble.

While the QTC1 is designed for high-fidelity capture, its omnidirectional nature makes it highly sensitive to the entire environment. It is best suited for critical recording applications where you want to capture the natural character of the space or instrument, rather than isolating a single loud source in a noisy environment.

The stereo pair comes with a protective carrying case and microphone clips. You will need to provide your own XLR cables and a phantom-powered interface or preamp to begin recording.
