While the mat is designed for both indoor and outdoor use, it is best suited for covered porches or entryways. Because it contains natural wool, prolonged exposure to direct rain or standing water may cause the fibers to degrade or hold moisture.

To maintain the mat, shake it out regularly to remove loose dirt and debris. For spot cleaning, use a soft brush or a damp cloth with mild soap, but avoid soaking the material to preserve the integrity of the jute and wool blend.

The blend of 60% jute and 40% wool provides a balance between rugged durability and a natural, textured feel. While it is firm enough to effectively scrape dirt from shoes, the wool content adds a softer touch compared to mats made entirely of coarse fibers.

Natural fibers like jute and wool can experience some color softening when exposed to intense, direct sunlight over long periods. To keep the Royal Blue tones vibrant, we recommend placing it in a shaded or semi-shaded entryway.

The mat is constructed as a woven textile without a rubberized backing. If you are placing it on a slick surface like polished tile or hardwood, you may want to use a thin rug pad underneath to prevent sliding.
