While it is versatile, the porous nature of authentic Yixing purple clay means it will absorb the oils and flavors of the tea over time. It is best to dedicate this teapot to a single category of tea, such as Pu'erh or Oolong, to prevent flavor cross-contamination.

Rinse the teapot with hot water only; avoid using dish soap, as the clay will absorb the chemicals and ruin the flavor of future brews. After use, simply empty the leaves, rinse thoroughly, and let it air dry completely with the lid off.
