MK Cherry MX Springs

These springs are specifically designed for Cherry MX switches. While they may fit some Cherry-style clones, we recommend them primarily for genuine Cherry MX housings to ensure consistent performance and fit.

No soldering is required to swap the springs themselves, but you will need to open your switch housings to access them. If your keyboard is not hot-swappable, you will first need to desolder the switches from the PCB to open them.

A 125g spring is considered 'super heavy.' For context, a standard Cherry MX Red switch has a bottom-out force of about 60g, so these springs will require significantly more finger pressure and provide a much more deliberate, resistant typing feel.

Beyond the premium aesthetic, the 24K gold plating helps prevent oxidation and corrosion over time. It also provides a smoother surface finish, which can help reduce spring ping and friction during the compression cycle.

These springs are primarily designed to change the physical resistance of the keypress, not to dampen sound. Because they are heavier, you may find yourself bottoming out with more force, which could potentially increase the sound of the key impact.
