Yes, this bed requires a mattress and a foundation or box spring. The frame is designed to support a standard Eastern King mattress setup, but it does not include the support system itself.

The frame is crafted from a combination of oak veneer, solid wood, and engineered wood. The headboard is upholstered in 100% polyester fabric, which is durable and easy to maintain.

There is 7.5 inches of clearance from the bottom of the side rails to the floor. This provides a modest amount of space for low-profile storage bins if needed.

Assembly is required for this piece, and because of the bed's size and weight, we recommend having two people assist with the setup. All necessary components—headboard, footboard, and rails—are included, but you will need basic tools to complete the assembly.
