While the manufacturer notes that this knife is dishwasher safe, we recommend hand washing and drying it immediately after use. High-heat cycles and harsh detergents can dull the blade edge and degrade the Pakkawood handle over time.

Because of the serrated teeth, you will need a specialized sharpening tool designed for serrated edges, such as a tapered ceramic rod. You should sharpen each individual serration periodically to keep the blade performing at its best.
