Focal Chora 826

These speakers are designed for medium to large listening spaces. Their powerful three-way configuration and dual woofers provide enough scale to fill larger rooms without sounding thin or overwhelmed.

For most music listening, the Chora 826 offers sufficient bass extension on its own thanks to its dual 6.5-inch woofers and front-ported design. However, if you are setting up a dedicated home theater system and want deep, cinematic rumble, adding a subwoofer can still enhance the experience.

The tilted stand is a deliberate design choice called time alignment. By angling the speaker slightly, the sound from the tweeter and the midrange drivers reaches your ears at the exact same time, resulting in a more precise and cohesive soundstage.

Focal uses recycled non-woven carbon fibers in a thermoplastic polymer to create the Slatefiber cone. This unique construction provides excellent rigidity, damping, and lightness, which helps the speaker deliver a faster, more controlled, and natural sound compared to traditional materials.

With a sensitivity of 91 dB and a nominal impedance of 8 ohms, the Chora 826 is relatively efficient. Most modern integrated amplifiers or receivers will drive them comfortably without needing specialized high-power equipment.

Because the bass reflex port is located on the front rather than the back, these speakers are more forgiving regarding placement. You can position them closer to a wall without the bass becoming muddy or boomy, which is a significant advantage in smaller or tighter living spaces.
