Brass Candle Snuffer

The IHADA finish is a traditional Japanese casting technique that leaves a unique, slightly textured surface on the brass. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, it provides a sophisticated, matte look that resists showing fingerprints compared to polished brass.

The flexible joint allows you to adjust the angle of the snuffer head, making it much easier to reach candles inside deep jars or those placed on high shelves. This ensures you can extinguish the flame safely without tilting the candle or risking hot wax spills.

The snuffer head has an inner diameter of 1.5 inches, which is ideal for most standard pillar candles and jar candles. It may be too large for very thin taper candles, as the bell needs to fit snugly over the wick to effectively cut off the oxygen.

Brass will naturally develop a patina over time as it reacts to the air, which many find adds to its character. If you prefer to keep it looking bright, you can occasionally wipe it with a soft, dry cloth or use a mild brass cleaner.

Using a snuffer prevents hot wax from splattering and eliminates the smoke and soot that occur when you blow out a wick. It also keeps the wick centered and upright, which helps ensure a cleaner, more even burn the next time you light your candle.
