Standard LED strips typically project light straight up from the surface they are mounted on. These side-emitting LEDs project light at a 90-degree angle, which makes them perfect for edge-lighting, creating a glow along a seam, or hiding the strip itself while still illuminating a surface.

Yes, the strip is designed to be cut at designated intervals marked on the PCB. Once cut, you can use the exposed copper pads to solder new connections if you need to extend the strip or wire it into a specific configuration.

The weatherproof sheathing is permanently bonded to the strip to protect the electronics from moisture and dust. While you can cut through it to shorten the strip, it is not designed to be peeled off or removed.

The strip comes with a standard 2-pin JST SM connector, which is compatible with many common LED controllers. If your specific project requires a different connection, you can easily solder wires directly to the 0.1-inch copper pads located at the cut points.

The black PCB is quite flexible and can handle gentle curves and bends, making it great for accenting edges or circular designs. However, avoid sharp, 90-degree creases, as this can damage the internal circuitry.
