Petzl Irvis Hybrid Crampons

The hybrid construction is all about balancing durability where you need it most with weight savings where you don't. The steel front section provides the bite and longevity required for hard ice and rock, while the aluminum heel reduces the overall weight, making them much easier to carry on long ski touring or glacier travel days.

The Irvis Hybrid features the LEVERLOCK UNIVERSEL binding system, which is highly versatile. It is designed to fit boots with or without heel welts, making it compatible with a wide range of footwear from technical ski boots to standard mountaineering boots.

These are primarily designed for ski touring and glacier travel, not vertical ice climbing. While they are robust and offer great traction, they lack the aggressive front-point geometry needed for steep, technical ice routes.

Thanks to the flexible linking system, the crampons can be folded into a very compact size. This makes them significantly easier to stow inside a pack compared to traditional rigid crampons, which is a major advantage for weight-conscious adventurers.

No tools are required. The crampons feature a tool-free adjustment system, allowing you to quickly and easily modify the length to fit different boot sizes on the fly.

The anti-balling plates are essential for safety in variable snow conditions. They prevent snow from sticking to the underside of the crampons, which stops 'snow-balling'—a dangerous situation where snow builds up and prevents the points from biting into the surface.
