Once you select your preferred wood and stain, we send physical samples to your home for review. You must approve these samples before we begin the finishing process to ensure the color aligns perfectly with your existing furniture.

Hardwoods like Hard Maple and Hickory are exceptionally dense and durable, making them excellent choices for high-traffic areas. Oak and Quartersawn White Oak are also popular for their prominent grain patterns, which help hide minor scratches and wear over time.

Standard wood grades are selected for a clean, uniform appearance with minimal knots or color variation. Rustic grades intentionally feature natural characteristics like knots, mineral streaks, and color variations to provide a more organic, textured aesthetic.

The Amish Preston Hutch is typically crafted from a single wood species to ensure consistent grain and stain absorption. We recommend choosing one species for the entire piece to maintain structural and aesthetic uniformity.

To maintain the finish, dust regularly with a soft, lint-free cloth and avoid using harsh chemical cleaners or silicone-based polishes. We recommend keeping the piece out of direct sunlight to prevent the wood and stain from fading over time.
