All available hardwoods are durable, but they differ in hardness and grain pattern. For example, Hickory and Hard Maple are exceptionally dense and resistant to wear, while Oak and Quartersawn White Oak offer a distinct, prominent grain texture.

The stationary design refers to the lack of a swivel mechanism, which provides a solid, wobble-free base. While it does not rotate, the chair is lightweight enough to be pulled out or repositioned easily on most floor surfaces.

These techniques are primarily structural, focusing on mortise-and-tenon joints that provide superior strength compared to standard furniture assembly.
