Because the wood is salvaged from century-old barns, it retains a rustic texture. However, you can opt to have the nail and knot holes filled during the build process if you prefer a smoother, more uniform surface.

Depending on the length you choose, the Stretford bench is designed to accommodate between 3 and 5 people. The angled center supports are specifically engineered to provide the structural integrity needed for this seating capacity.

The wood is kiln-dried to ensure stability and eliminate insects, making it very durable for daily use. We recommend standard dusting and avoiding harsh chemical cleaners to preserve the natural character of the reclaimed timber.

The 'X' style leg design provides a wide, sturdy base that offers excellent weight distribution. While it is stable on most surfaces, we recommend using felt pads on the feet if you are placing the bench on delicate hardwood floors.

Kiln-drying is essential for reclaimed wood as it removes excess moisture, which prevents the bench from warping or cracking over time. It also ensures the wood is completely sanitized and free of any pests that may have been present in the original barn structure.
