The 24" stool is designed for standard counter-height surfaces, typically around 36" high. The 30" stool is intended for bar-height surfaces, which are usually around 42" high. Measure from the floor to the underside of your counter to ensure you have at least 9 to 12 inches of legroom.

The solid wood seat offers a classic, durable look that is easiest to clean but may feel firm over long periods. The fabric and leather options include a 2" foam cushion for added comfort, with leather being more resistant to spills and stains than fabric.

Adding arms provides extra support and a more lounge-like feel, though it does increase the overall width of the stool. A footrest is highly recommended for comfort, especially if you plan on sitting for extended periods, while a kickplate helps protect the wood finish from scuffs and wear over time.

Light distressing adds subtle character marks like small nicks or dents to give the piece a gently used look. Heavy distressing includes more pronounced wear, such as rasping and deeper gouges, to create a more rustic, antique aesthetic.

The Williston stool is handcrafted and typically arrives fully assembled, ready for immediate use. Because it is built with solid hardwood construction, it is designed to remain sturdy and stable without the need for periodic tightening of fasteners.

Hardwoods like Oak, Quarter Sawn White Oak, and Hickory are exceptionally dense and resistant to dents, making them excellent choices for busy kitchens. If you prefer a smoother grain, Cherry or Hard Maple are also durable options that take stains very evenly.
