Wonderful World Wall Hanging

Kathiawad is a traditional style of hand-embroidery originating from the Gujarat region of India. It is characterized by intricate, colorful patterns and the inclusion of small, reflective mirrors, known as abhla, which add texture and light to the textile.

Because this is a lightweight textile, you can hang it using a decorative wooden dowel, a magnetic poster hanger, or by carefully pinning the top edge to the wall. Ensure you use a method that supports the width of the piece without damaging the fabric.

The mirrors are small and securely stitched into the embroidery, but they are real glass. Handle the piece with care when hanging or dusting to ensure the mirrors remain intact and in place.

To keep the piece in good condition, gently shake it to remove dust or use a soft-bristled brush. Avoid machine washing or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the delicate hand-embroidery and mirror attachments.

Since each piece is ethically handcrafted by individual artisans, there may be slight variations in the embroidery patterns and color placement. These subtle differences are a hallmark of the handmade process and make each wall hanging unique.
