Soy wax is a natural, vegetable-based alternative that burns cleaner and slower than paraffin. It produces significantly less soot, which helps keep your walls and surfaces cleaner while providing a longer-lasting burn.

Tunneling occurs when the wax doesn't melt all the way to the edges of the container. To prevent this, ensure your first burn lasts long enough for the entire top layer of wax to liquefy completely, usually taking about two to three hours.

Trimming your wick to 1/4 inch before every lighting prevents the flame from becoming too large, which can cause excess smoke and soot. A properly trimmed wick also ensures a more stable, controlled burn that helps your candle last longer.
