Herend Service Plate

A service plate, also known as a charger, is designed to serve as an elegant base for your dinnerware. It remains on the table throughout the meal to frame the smaller plates used for each course, adding a layer of sophistication to your table setting.

While it is designed primarily for presentation, you can use it for serving. However, because it is a service plate, it is intended to hold a smaller dinner plate rather than acting as the primary vessel for your main course.

Herend pieces are crafted with high-quality ceramic, but we recommend hand washing to preserve the finish and integrity of the piece over time. Avoid using abrasive sponges or harsh detergents to keep the surface pristine.

An 11-inch diameter is the standard size for a service plate, providing a generous border around a typical 9-inch or 10-inch dinner plate. This size ensures the decorative edge of the service plate remains visible while the dinner plate is centered on top.
