The India Pushback Chair operates manually. You simply lean back against the backrest to engage the recline mechanism, which allows you to transition from an upright seated position to a relaxed recline without the need for levers or buttons.

The seat cushions are loose, making them easy to remove for cleaning or maintenance. The back cushions are semi-attached, which helps them stay securely in place and prevents shifting over time.

The back cushions are filled with blown-fiber for a soft, pillow-like feel, while the seat cushions use high-resiliency, high-density foam. This combination provides a plush, comfortable backrest paired with a supportive, durable seat that maintains its shape.

The contemporary plinth base is designed with a flat, solid footprint. While it is generally floor-friendly, we recommend using felt pads on the bottom of the base to ensure your hardwood floors remain protected from any potential scuffs.

Both the seat and back feature heavy-gauge sinuous springs, which are designed to provide consistent, long-lasting support. This suspension system offers a slight amount of flex for comfort while ensuring the chair retains its structural integrity over years of daily use.

Care depends on your chosen material. For leather, we recommend regular dusting and using a leather conditioner to prevent drying; for fabric, vacuuming regularly and spot-cleaning spills immediately with a mild, water-based cleaner is best.
