This plant requires high light to maintain its compact, healthy growth. A bright, south-facing window or a spot with several hours of direct sun is ideal for keeping the stems from becoming leggy.

The String of Blimps is drought-tolerant and prefers to dry out completely between waterings. It is safer to underwater than to overwater, as the succulent leaves store moisture and are prone to rot if kept in damp soil.

Because it only grows about 2 inches tall, it works well in smaller pots, but its trailing stems can spread up to 3 feet. It is best suited for hanging baskets or elevated containers where its long, delicate branches have room to drape.

While it tolerates pruning, it is generally best to leave it unpruned to maintain its natural, trailing habit. If a stem becomes damaged or grows too long for your space, you can trim it back with clean, sharp shears.

Use a high-quality, well-draining succulent or cactus potting mix. Proper drainage is essential to prevent moisture from sitting around the roots, which is the most common cause of issues with this plant.
