While it is referred to as a 12-gallon equivalent in terms of growth potential, the actual physical capacity of this container is 3.6 gallons (13.8 liters). It is designed to provide the same root-zone performance as a standard 5-gallon pot.

The Air-Pot #12 is primarily designed for seedlings, cuttings, or plants intended for one to two seasons of growth. For long-term, multi-year specimens, you may eventually need to transplant into a larger container to accommodate ongoing root development.

Because the walls allow for significant airflow, the soil may dry out faster than in a traditional solid-walled plastic pot. You should monitor your moisture levels closely, especially during hot weather, though this airflow also significantly reduces the risk of overwatering and root rot.

Yes, the pots arrive as flat sheets that are easily assembled using the included fixings. They are made from durable, recycled HDPE plastic and can be disassembled, cleaned, and reused for multiple growing seasons.

These pots are specifically designed for outdoor use. Because of the drainage holes and air-pruning vents on the sides, they will leak water and soil particles, making them unsuitable for indoor surfaces unless placed inside a large, leak-proof tray.
