Blue Thumb Sugar Kettle Complete Water Feature Kit

The kit comes with the cast iron sugar kettle, a heavy-duty basin, a high-flow submersible pump, all necessary plumbing, a splash apron, and an automatic water fill system.

Cast iron is durable, but it will develop a natural patina over time when exposed to the elements. To maintain the original look, you may choose to apply a protective sealant periodically, though many owners prefer the weathered, historic aesthetic.

The included automatic fill valve connects to your garden hose or a dedicated water line. It monitors the water level in the basin and adds water as needed to compensate for evaporation, ensuring your pump stays submerged and protected.

While the kit is designed for straightforward assembly, it does require digging a hole for the basin and setting up the plumbing. We recommend having a second person assist with positioning the kettle, as cast iron is heavy.

The kit includes a specialized splash apron designed to catch water runoff and direct it back into the basin. Proper leveling of the kettle during installation is also key to ensuring water flows evenly and stays contained.

In regions that experience freezing temperatures, you should drain the basin, disconnect the pump, and store the pump indoors. Leaving water in the system during a freeze can damage the pump and the plumbing components.
