This screen is specifically designed for E61 group heads and requires a 58.5mm basket size. If your machine uses a standard 58mm or 58.5mm basket, it will fit, but you should verify your basket diameter before purchasing.

It acts as a diffuser for the water coming out of your group head. By breaking up the high-pressure stream, it ensures the water hits your coffee bed evenly, which helps prevent channeling and leads to a more balanced extraction.

Using a puck screen can slightly alter your headspace, so you may need to reduce your coffee dose by 0.5 to 1 gram to prevent the screen from touching the shower screen. You generally won't need to change your grind size, but keep an eye on your shot times as the flow dynamics will be slightly different.

Rinse it under hot water immediately after pulling your shot to remove coffee oils. For a deeper clean, soak it in a coffee machine detergent solution periodically to prevent residue buildup that could affect flow.

Many users find that a puck screen produces a cleaner, more consistent cup by reducing the likelihood of sour or bitter spots caused by uneven water flow. While it won't fix a poor grind, it does make your extraction process more forgiving and repeatable.
