Agway Winterizer Fertilizer

This fertilizer should be applied in late fall, typically when the grass has stopped growing but is still green. This timing allows the roots to absorb the nutrients before the ground freezes.

While it is designed as the final step in the Agway 4-Stage program, you can use it as a standalone winter treatment. It will still provide the necessary nutrients to help your lawn survive the winter and green up faster in the spring.

For even distribution, use a broadcast or drop spreader set to the recommended rate on the bag. Ensure you overlap your passes slightly to avoid missed spots or striping.

Since this is a non-water-soluble granular fertilizer, it is best applied when the grass is dry. You do not need to water it in immediately, as the nutrients will release into the soil over time with natural moisture like dew or light rain.

It is standard practice to keep pets and children off the lawn until the fertilizer has been watered in or until the granules have settled into the soil. Once the application area is dry and the granules have fallen to the base of the grass blades, it is generally safe for normal activity.
