The glass shade is designed to sit securely within the mango wood base, but it is not permanently attached. This allows you to easily lift the glass to place or light your candle inside.

Because the lantern features an open-top design, it accommodates standard pillar candles or votives perfectly. We recommend using a candle that leaves at least an inch of clearance from the glass walls to prevent overheating.

To maintain the finish of the mango wood, simply wipe it down with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners or soaking the wood in water, as this can damage the natural grain and finish.

The glass is mouth-blown, which gives it a unique, organic quality. You may notice subtle variations or tiny air bubbles, which are characteristic of the artisanal blowing process and add to the lantern's farmhouse charm.

While it is a beautiful accent piece, it is primarily designed for indoor use. The mango wood base is not treated for weather resistance, so it should be kept in a dry, covered area if placed on a patio or porch.
