The Laundress Sweater Comb

Unlike electric shavers that use rotating blades, this manual comb uses fine metal mesh screens to gently lift pills. It offers more control, making it safer for delicate, fine-gauge woolens where you want to avoid the risk of cutting or snagging the yarn.

It is specifically designed for sweaters, scarves, and wool coats. While it is excellent for most knits, we recommend testing it on a small, inconspicuous area first, especially on very loose or fuzzy mohair blends.

Lay your garment flat on a firm surface to ensure the fabric is taut. Using light pressure, glide the comb in one direction across the pilled area, lifting the tool periodically to clear away the collected fuzz.

The cedar wood handle provides a sturdy, ergonomic grip that makes it easier to maintain consistent pressure while de-pilling. Additionally, cedar is naturally durable and resistant to moisture, ensuring the tool holds up well over time.

Simply remove the accumulated lint and fuzz from the metal mesh screens with your fingers or a small brush. Because the tool is manual and made of stainless steel and wood, it does not require any complex maintenance.
