The crackled glaze is designed to evolve as you use it. Over time, tea oils will seep into the fine cracks, creating a unique patina that darkens the pattern. Simply rinse it with hot water after each use and allow it to air dry thoroughly.

This blue version is formulated to be less absorbent than the previous white Ruyao runs. This makes it a more versatile choice if you prefer to brew a wider variety of tea types without lingering flavors from previous sessions.

The Xishi spout is designed for a clean, steady pour. While it does not have a mesh filter, the precision of the spout opening effectively manages most whole-leaf teas. If you are brewing very fine or broken-leaf teas, you may want to use a separate strainer.

Because each teapot is individually handmade, the exact placement of the crackle pattern and the depth of the blue hue will vary slightly from piece to piece. These are not defects, but rather markers of the artisanal firing process that make your specific teapot one-of-a-kind.

At 150ml, this teapot is perfectly sized for solo sessions or brewing for two people. It follows the traditional Xishi style, which is ideal for gongfu-style brewing where you use a higher leaf-to-water ratio.
