Yes, the irregular shape is intentional and common in traditional chawan design. It provides a comfortable, ergonomic grip for your hands while allowing enough space for your bamboo whisk to move freely during the preparation process.

Because of the unique Raku glaze, we recommend hand-washing the bowl with mild soap and warm water. Avoid using a dishwasher or abrasive scrubbers, as these can damage the delicate finish and the integrity of the artisanal glaze.
