Brew time depends on your pour speed and grind size, but generally, a full batch takes about 5 to 7 minutes. The manual nature of the process means you control the extraction time, which is part of the appeal.

A gooseneck kettle is highly recommended. It gives you precise control over the flow rate and placement of the water, which is essential for an even extraction and consistent flavor profile.

You should not place the Chemex directly on an electric coil or glass-top stove. If you need to reheat your coffee, use a glass-safe warming plate or transfer the coffee to a thermal carafe to maintain temperature without scorching the brew.
