These speakers are designed specifically for small to medium-sized rooms. Their compact footprint makes them ideal for desktop setups, home offices, or smaller living areas where floor-standing speakers would be overwhelming.

While these are compact bookshelf speakers, the dual-flare reflex ports and wood fibre cone drivers provide surprisingly punchy low-frequency performance for their size. For most music listening, they offer a full, balanced sound, though home theater enthusiasts may still prefer adding a dedicated subwoofer for deep cinematic impact.

The patented SMC (Soft Magnetic Compound) system is designed to minimize hysteresis, which is a form of electro-acoustic distortion. By reducing this magnetic interference, the speaker produces a cleaner, more natural sound with significantly less coloration.

The Opticon 1 MK2 features rear-firing dual-flare ports, so they perform best when given a little breathing room from the back wall. If you must place them very close to a wall, you may experience a slight boost in bass, but the turbulence-reducing port design helps maintain clarity even in tighter spaces.

These speakers are designed for high power handling and will pair well with most quality integrated amplifiers or receivers. Because they are efficient, you don't need a massive power plant to drive them, but a high-quality amplifier will better showcase the detail and resolution of the soft dome tweeter.
