The stone-washing process breaks down the fibers of the cotton velvet, resulting in a significantly softer, lived-in feel compared to standard velvet. It removes the stiff, formal sheen often associated with new velvet, making it much more comfortable for daily lounging.

The throw features a poly-fill batting, which gives it a substantial, cozy weight. While it is designed as an oversized throw for layering, it provides enough warmth to serve as a primary blanket during cooler evenings.

This throw is machine washable for easy maintenance. We recommend washing it on a cold cycle and tumble drying on low heat to preserve the integrity of the cotton velvet and the ruched flange edge.

Because the fabric undergoes a stone-washing process, slight variations in dye lots are common. This is a natural characteristic of the production method and ensures that each piece has a unique, artisanal quality.

The ruched flange is durable, but to keep it looking its best, avoid high-heat drying or harsh agitation. If the ruching looks flattened after washing, a gentle shake or light fluffing while damp will help restore its texture.
