Focal Kanta N2

The Kanta N°2 is versatile, with a recommended amplifier power range of 40 to 300 watts. While they can be driven by modest power, a high-quality amplifier toward the higher end of that range will better control the dual Flax woofers and reveal the full dynamic potential of the Beryllium tweeter.

The Flax cones provide a natural, warm midrange with tight bass, while the pure Beryllium tweeter offers exceptional clarity and high-frequency detail. This combination creates a balanced, musical soundstage that is both precise and non-fatiguing for long listening sessions.

The Kanta N°2 is a bass-reflex design, meaning it performs best when given some breathing room from the front wall to prevent the bass from becoming muddy. Because the front panel is molded to eliminate diffraction, they are generally easier to integrate into a room than many other floor-standing speakers of this size.

The HDP cabinet is significantly denser and more rigid than traditional MDF, which helps to minimize internal vibrations and cabinet coloration. By reducing these unwanted resonances, the speaker delivers a cleaner, more accurate sound that stays true to the original recording.

The Kanta N°2 uses standard, high-quality binding posts that accept banana plugs, spade lugs, or bare wire. You do not need proprietary cabling, though using high-quality speaker wire will ensure you aren't creating a bottleneck for the signal reaching the drivers.

Each speaker stands 44 inches tall and requires a footprint of approximately 18.75 by 12.62 inches. Given their 77-pound weight, you will want to ensure your flooring is stable and that you have enough clearance to position them away from corners for optimal acoustic performance.
