Leslie's Debris Shield

These shields are designed with a flexible, stretchy material that fits most standard-sized skimmer and pump baskets. If you have an unusually large or custom-shaped basket, they may be a tight fit, but they generally accommodate the vast majority of residential pool setups.

This depends entirely on your pool's debris load. During heavy leaf season or after a storm, you may need to rinse or replace them every few days, while during clearer periods, they can last a week or more. You'll know it's time to clean them when you notice a decrease in water flow through your skimmer.

They are designed to be reusable. You can simply remove the bag, rinse out the trapped debris with a garden hose, and place it back in the basket. Once the nylon mesh begins to wear down or becomes too difficult to clean, you can easily discard it and start with a fresh one from the pack.

While any added layer of filtration will slightly reduce flow, these shields are made of a porous nylon mesh specifically designed to catch fine particles without completely blocking water circulation. However, it is important to check and clean them regularly; if they become completely clogged with debris, they will restrict flow and put unnecessary strain on your pump.

No tools are required. Installation is a simple DIY process: you just stretch the elastic opening of the bag over the top rim of your existing skimmer basket and drop it back into place.
