Bamboo Matcha Scoop (Chashaku)

A standard chashaku scoop typically holds about 1 gram of matcha powder. It is designed to help you measure the perfect amount for a single serving of thin tea (usucha).

Simply wipe the scoop with a clean, dry cloth after each use. Do not put it in the dishwasher or submerge it in water, as bamboo is a natural material that can warp or crack when exposed to excess moisture.

While a metal measuring spoon works, a bamboo chashaku is specifically shaped to reach into the corners of a matcha tin and gently whisk the powder into the bowl. Its non-reactive material also helps maintain the delicate flavor profile of high-quality matcha.

Because it is hand-carved from natural bamboo, the scoop may undergo slight changes due to humidity and temperature. To keep it in good condition, store it in a dry place away from direct heat sources.
