A 40c width is quite wide for traditional road bikes and may not fit frames designed for narrower tires. It is best suited for gravel bikes, all-road frames, or commuters with generous tire clearance where the extra volume provides significant comfort and stability.

MaxxShield adds a bead-to-bead layer for puncture resistance, which makes the tire slightly heavier and stiffer than a race-specific tire. However, this trade-off is intentional, as it significantly reduces the risk of flats during long training rides or urban commutes.
