This is an enduro-specific mountain bike built for aggressive riding. It excels on steep, technical descents and rough terrain where the coil shock and long-travel suspension can provide maximum traction and control.

The Fox DHX Coil shock offers a more linear, supple feel that tracks the ground exceptionally well over small bumps and chatter. While it adds a bit of weight compared to an air shock, the trade-off is superior grip and consistent performance on long, demanding descents.

While it is built for descending, the Altitude is surprisingly capable on climbs thanks to its efficient geometry and 12-speed Shimano XT drivetrain. However, because of the coil shock and burly build, it is heavier than a dedicated trail bike, so it is best suited for riders who prioritize downhill performance.

The bike comes with tubeless-ready Race Face AR 30 rims, which is a great starting point. You will likely need to add tubeless sealant and ensure your valves are set up correctly to fully convert to a tubeless system.

The 4-piston Shimano XT brakes provide significantly more stopping power and heat management than standard 2-piston brakes. This is essential for a bike of this caliber, as it allows for precise, confident speed control on steep, sustained descents.
